YOUR GO-TO GUIDE FOR A SIMPLY STUNNING FALL FRONT PORCH

The cozy season is quickly approaching, and your front porch may need a few updates to keep up with the cooler weather. Want to take your style up a notch without breaking your back (or the bank)? Here are our favorite tips for achieving an (almost) effortless wow-factor!

Incorporate seasonal textiles:Toss a plaid blanket over the arm of a chair or bench for instant autumn vibes, or add a few checkered throw pillows for comfort and style. No furniture? No problem! A welcome mat provides another easy opportunity to incorporate fall colors and patterns into your decor.

Repurpose ordinary items: Prop a rustic broom up near the front door to give a subtle nod to Halloween. In addition to being seasonally sophisticated, a broom is easy to grab for a quick sweep when you’re expecting guests. Elevate your style with a well-placed pair of simple rubber boots that you can step into when making trips to the mailbox. Apple crates and tree stumps make great side tables that are fit for fall.

Warm up with lanterns: Candlelight gives your front porch an intimate glow, perfect for the earlier sunsets of the season! Use traditional candles, or opt for battery-powered candles with timers for a warm welcome when you arrive home after work. Lanterns come in a variety of sizes and finishes to give you plenty of options for lighting up your porch.

Rethink the pumpkin: Cover traditional pumpkins in metallic spray paint for an eye-popping display, or use a stencil to paint your house number onto a pumpkin. Make a fall-friendly planter by hollowing out a larger pumpkin and placing a potted plant inside. Create stunning contrast by experimenting with cheese pumpkins, white ghost pumpkins, or blue Jarrahdale pumpkins.
